Sarah Clanton

Sarah
I am a Resident in Counseling with experience in working with a wide range of mental health issues, including, Depression Anxiety, Trauma, and Neurodiversity. I am especially interested in working with individuals in transition points in their lives. These transitions can be in many forms, physical, emotional, career, relational, familial, identity or spiritual. I am an LGBTQ+ ally, kink ally and poly ally. In my career I have worked in crisis counseling, and I am familiar with a variety of mental health issues. I have experience with depression, anxiety, ADHD, phobias, and OCD. I take a holistic and trauma informed care approach. I may pull from many areas of my client’s life experience to guide their personal development. Narrative, metaphor, leisure activities may all be incorporated into my sessions.

On a more personal note, counseling is my second act. I was a stay- at -home mother for two amazing people, one of whom has disabilities. I also divorced after a decades long marriage and have seized this opportunity to delve deeper into my own self development. I became employed full time, continued my education, ran some incredible races, rediscovered dating and found a challenging and rewarding new path. I look forward to being a resource to my clients as they negotiate the challenges that they are experiencing. Lastly, I do not have a second language, but I am quite familiar with Simlish.
