I am a licensed professional counselor with 9 years of experience in the mental health field. I have experience working in all clinical settings including therapeutic day treatment, community based counseling, and inpatient and outpatient care. I have worked with clients from ages 5-65. I am passionate about serving those in need in my community and am culturally sensitive as well as LGBTQIA+ affirming. I completed my bachelor’s of arts in human development and family sciences at Virginia Tech and a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University.
I have worked extensively with both adults and children. I am open to working with a variety of age ranges and populations and am extremely client-centered, meeting the client where they are on their healing journey.
Mental health matters. I seek to walk alongside my clients in their healing journey and realize healing is not a linear process. I am confident that I would be able to support you on your mental health journey and bring an eclectic approach to therapy utilizing DBT, Trauma-focused CBT, positive psychology, and mindfulness. I specialize in helping clients find self-compassion, self-forgiveness, and improved self-esteem.
I also understand therapy is not a one-size fits all approach. I have attended therapy myself as well as have seen therapeutic interventions work on the lives of my loved ones. I have always enjoyed working with people and give my strong empathy skills to the work I do each day.
I am a strong advocate for both mental health and social justice awareness and believe mental health is just as important as physical health. I believe everyone can benefit from having a therapist because it is always helpful to have an unbiased third party to talk to even if it is just about how your day went. One doesn’t have to be in crisis to seek out a therapist or to prioritize their mental health and overall well-being.
